Jainism is an ancient Indian religious and philosophical tradition, which has unbroken continuity up to the present day. Two prominent schools developed within this tradition very early in its history: the Digambara and Shwetambara sects. This programme introduces students to foundational texts of these two sects, key tenets of Jain philosophy and also to the life and work of great Jainacharyas.

This Diploma is a bridge programme for those who wish to pursue the M.A. in Jainology later. It is also open to those who seek an introduction to Jain History, culture and literature etc. This programme is an intensive one, of 2 credits each semester.
