K J Somaiya Institute of Dharma Studies is organizing an International Round-table Conference in collaboration with N. Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Inter-civilisational Dialogue, Kazakhstan at our Vidyavihar Campus in Mumbai. We would like to invite you to grace this occasion. Theme Note

Bharatiya Sanskriti Peetham, one of the centres of K J Somaiya Institute of Dharma Studies, has been actively involved in Interfaith activities for the last two decades. Over the years, we have organised around 40 national and international seminars for Interreligious Dialogue and published 8 books on related themes. Interfaith activities on our campus were developed under the guidance and deep personal involvement of the late Dr. Shantilal K Somaiya, who was the Vice-President of Somaiya Vidyavihar till he passed away in 2010.

Dr. Somaiya’s efforts were also recognised by the Government of Kazakhstan. He was invited to the International Congress of World and Traditional Religions organized by the Hon. Nursultan Nazarbayev, the first president of Kazakhstan, in 2003, 2006 and 2009 as the Leader of the Hindu Delegation. At present, Mr. Samir Somaiya, Chancellor of Somaiya Vidyavihar University, is the Leader of the Hindu Delegation at this Congress. The VII Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions took place in Kazakhstan in September 2022, marking a significant milestone in fostering interfaith dialogue and cooperation on a global scale. In this Congress, a declaration was adopted by the majority of delegates of the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions.  

An International Roundtable has been organized to facilitate discussion on the Declaration of VII Congress, by K J Somaiya Institute of Dharma Studies in collaboration with Nursultan Nazarbayev Center for Development of Interfaith and Inter-civilizational Dialogue.
