We are delighted to invite you for one day workshop on “Mindful Day” on 24th February 2024. This workshop is organized by K. J. Somaiya Institute of Dharma Studies jointly with the SVU Cultural Committee. The exercise is based on inputs and practices from the contemporary mindfulness movement in the West. Dr. Martina Esberger-Chowdhury, author and international meditation- and mindfulness-based stress-reduction trainer, will guide the participants for the Day. This Mindful Day becomes more meaningful in order to make ourselves aware of the present moment and values like humility and gratitude.

About  Dr. Martina Esberger-Chowdhury :

Dr Martina Esberger-Chowdhury is an author and international meditation- and mindfulness-based stress-reduction trainer. Born in Mumbai, her Austro-Indian family background led to a deep interest in the Indian philosophical texts from an early age. With her consulting company, Esberger-Chowdhury Mind Leadership, Martina has been offering mindfulness training to organisations, educational institutions, and individuals for over a decade. She is also a founding member of the initiative ‘Mindfulness in Politics’ in Austria. She has done a Diploma course in Buddhist Studies. Her recent book “Calm the Monkey Mind – a scientific approach to mindful living” was released in India in October 2023.

In addition to organizational training and consulting, she organizes regular meditation evenings, MBSR-trainings, executive retreats, key notes and publishes articles on mindfulness, awareness and meditation.

PS: The participants are advised to bring their own meditation cushions along with them.
